Palak Paneer



A very easy and nutritious dish which goes with bread and rice
 
 
Ingredients
  •  1 big bunch palak(spinach leaves)
  • 250 gm paneer cubes
  • 1 big onion chopped
  •  1 tbsp ginger garlic chopped
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 4-5 green chillies
  • 1 tsp garam masla powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2-3 dry chillies
  • 1 pinch asafetida powder (hing or kaayam)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp fresh cream
Normally spinach is blanched and pureed, but I microwaved the spinach leaves for one minute and pureed it . In a pan add butter ,once it melts add hing ,cumin seeds ,dry chillies along with onion ,ginger garlic, green chillies, garam masala and tomato. Sautee this well for 5-10 min and then add spinach puree and let it boil till the gravy becomes thick . Finally add paneer cubes and cream and switch off the flame.


 Do Note
 
Cashew nut paste can also be used to make this curry richer. 2-3 tbsp cashew paste will be enough.
