Aloo Paratta (Potato stuffed flatbread)

Aloo Parathas are delicious spicy potato stuffed flatbreads. I've made a slight change in  potato masala mix which gives this paratta a different flavor. Served with yoghurt or lime pickles, they are excellent for breakfast or dinner.

Ingredients
  • Whole wheat flour                      - 2 cups
  • Potato boiled and mashed           - 3 medium
  • Onion                                        - 1 thinly sliced
  • Ginger garlic paste                     - 2 tsp
  • Chicken masala powder              - 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice                              - 1 tb sp
  • Oil                                            - 1 tb sp
  • Butter                                       - 1 tbsp
Knead the wheat flour with salt and water and make a soft dough. Heat a pan. Add oil, ginger garlic paste and onion. Fry for one minute and add  chicken masala. Sauté this for one minute and add boiled potatoes and mix well. Switch off the flame, then add lemon juice. Once this  cools well, make small lemon sized balls of the masala. Roll the dough in small circles and keep the mixture in the center of the cirlce.  Seal  the corners and press this with your hand gently to evenly spread the masala within the dough and roll this to a flat bread shape. Heat a tawa and cook the parattas till they are golden brown on either side, taking care not to over burn. Brush the parathas with butter or oil while cooking.
